Capture
The in-app camera writes the photo straight into the encrypted vault. That capture is not added to Photos or iCloud Photos.

Import
Copy a photo or a video from Photos into the vault. The original stays in Photos. Save to Privacy 22, in the share sheet, does the same for one item.

Keep it, until you send it
Browse the grid, open an item, and delete it when you are done. Export or share only when you mean to. That file leaves the iPhone because you sent it.
Privacy
What stays on the phone, and what you choose to send.
Gallery does not upload the vault. Captures from the in-app camera are not written to Photos or iCloud Photos. The vault is encrypted on the device, with the key in the Keychain for that iPhone only. There is no account.
Export and share are different. When you send an item, that file leaves because you sent it. The vault copy remains until you remove it. We do not claim a picture can never leave the phone.

The vault on the phone is not capped. Camera, import, and App lock are included. A cloud copy, encrypted on the phone before it is uploaded, is not built and not for sale.

Before the vault is on your phone
Does the in-app camera save to Photos?
No. A capture from the Gallery camera is sealed into the vault on that iPhone. It is not written to Photos or iCloud Photos.
Can I bring in photos and videos I already have?
Yes. Import copies a photo or a video you choose. The original in Photos is left as it is. The copy in the vault is encrypted on the iPhone.
Is the vault encrypted, and does it leave the phone?
The vault is AES-GCM. The key stays in the Keychain for this iPhone only, and the files are protected while the phone is locked. The vault is not uploaded. There is no account. If you export or share an item, that file leaves because you sent it. The vault keeps its copy until you delete it.
What does Save to Privacy 22 do?
It is the share sheet entry. It saves a copy of the photo or video into the vault. It does not change the item you shared, and it does not edit the picture.
Is there a limit, or something to buy?
The vault on the iPhone is not capped. The camera, import, and App lock are included. Encrypted cloud backup is the later Pro idea. It is not for sale, and this website does not take payment.
